About Jarrod/Dai Shi
10,000 years ago, a great evil known as the Dai Shi believed animals should rule the planet, and humans should be erased. After a long, strenuous battle, he was finally sealed away. Recently, however, he escaped, and planned to exact his revenge on the Order of the Claw and
finish his plot to rule Earth. He cares nothing for his underlings, especially Camille. Finally, the chosen three, Casey, Lily, and Theo, along with their fellow Rangers and new allies, were able to destroy him.
Jarrod is a young man who attended the Pai Zhua Academy, in hopes of becoming one of the chosen three to guard the great evil.
Jarrod holds the spirit of the mighty lion, wielding its massive power and fiery spirit. At first, he may seem like an arrogant, cold-hearted jerk, but we soon discover there is more to him than meets the eye. He had a hard childhood, his parents never being around very much. We learn that he has honor, compassion, and a sense of justice, but has recently let his anger get the best of him. He was chosen by Master Mao, along with fellow students Theo and Lily to guard Dai Shi, but blew his chance when he smarted off to another student, and got into a fight with Casey. Master Mao dismissed him and chose Casey instead. Hurt and angered, Jarrod took his aggression out on his Master, accidently releasing Dai Shi. Dai Shi sensed his power and fear and decided to take his body as a host.
It had been thought that Jarrod's humanity was lost, erased by Dai Shi. Not so. It has been revealed that he has human feelings for Camille. Jarrod has not been erased after all, and is in love with Camille. Her kindness and love towards her master touched him deeply and began to break Dai Shi's hold over his soul whenever she was near. He rescued her from danger, and told her that Dai Shi may not care, but he does. Dai Shi tried to regain control over him, but Casey and Camille's belief in Jarrod purged the dragon spirit from his body. At first, Jarrod was confused as to what to do with himself. He was afraid that if he used his lion spirit to help his new friends that he would only end up hurting them. But with a little help from Camille, Jarrod realized what he must do. He stood up to Dai Shi and fought him, redeeming himself. After the battle, Jarrod returns to Pai Zhua, with Camille, and helps Casey teach a class.
