About the Couple

10,000 years ago, the evil dragon being known as Dai Shi tried to erase humanity from the face of the Earth. Known as the Beast War, many warriors tried to end his reign of terror and failed. Finally, Pai Zhua, the Order of the Claw, was able to seal away Dai Shi, and has guarded his spirit for 10,000 years.

Flash forward to present day. After Dai Shi has escaped, Jarrod, a misunderstood student of the Pai Zhua Academy, is kicked out. Dai Shi follows Jarrod and takes his body as a vessel. Once Dai Shi returns to his temple, he assembles his Rinshi to complete his plot for world domination. He calls forth his most loyal warrior, Camille. Camille steps forth from the shadows, pleased by Dai Shi's "magnificent new look." She has been waiting in the temple for thousands of years for her beloved's return.

We soon see that Camille is hopelessly in love with Dai Shi, unconditionally loyal and willing to do anything to win his favor. Dai Shi, on the other hand, being a truly evil being, cares nothing for her, only paying any kind of attention to her when he wants something done. Despite this, Camille does her best to win his favor and keep him safe from the three overlords. Dai Shi is greatly annoyed by this; he feels it is insubordination. However, when Jellica tries to kill Camille, Dai Shi rushes in and rescues her. Camille is pleased but confused; why would he act this way?

When Dai Shi learns of the plot against his life by the three overlords, he decides to go to the Rhino Nexus to gain enough power to thwart them. Camille offers to go with her, but Dai Shi ignores her. When his plan fails because he does not hold the Control Dagger necessary to enter the Nexus and is thrown in the dungeon by the Overlords, Camille finds the dagger for him and frees him. They journey to the Nexus, and oddly enough, Dai Shi is very protective and kind towards Camille. Could it be Jarrod's human side showing compassion....? Once they return from the Nexus, Dai Shi is no longer harsh towards Camille. In fact, he begins to seem...almost attracted towards her. After the Phantom Beast Generals, Scorch and Snapper, are brought back to life, they want Dai Shi to become their Phantom Beast King. They think Camille is a worthless warrior, and are disturbed when they notice the way Dai Shi looks and acts around her. They are horrified when Dai Shi makes her his fourth Phantom Beast General, his top General. They comment that Camille seems to be bringing Jarrod forth from the depths of Dai Shi's darkness.

Once they call Jarrod on his feelings for Camille, Dai Shi fully loses control and Jarrod emerges. He has trouble controlling Dai Shi's wrath and feels lost and confused. Camille, who is unaware of Jarrod's presence, tells him she will always be devoted to him and takes his hand. Jarrod smiles and thanks her. Camille's eyes widen and she whispers that he has never thanked her. Embarrassed and confused, Jarrod rushes off. When he looks for Camille later, he realizes in a panic that she is under attack by the Phantom Beasts. He rushes in and rescues her. As he holds her close, Camille smiles and says, "That means you do care about me, Dai Shi." Jarrod admits that it is he, not Dai Shi, that loves her. He proceeds to kill the Phantom Beasts (Camille is smiling and blushing) and then takes her in his arms and carries her back to the temple. Once there, he tenderly takes care of her. Camille thanks him. Jarrod smiles and strokes her cheek, promising that he would never let any harm come to her. Camille is overwhelmingly happy that someone loves her. Suddenly, Dai Shi regains control, and he orders her to get off of his throne. Camille, terrified, complies and falls in a crumpled heap.

Camille is torn about what she should do; should she stand by Dai Shi even though he does not care about her, or help Jarrod, the one who is in love with her? When Casey comes to the temple to rescue Jarrod, Dai Shi is forced from Jarrod's body. Dai Shi starts killing Jarrod. Watching, Camille looks pained, then jumps in the way, screaming, "NO!" With the help of Casey, they escape. Camille and Jarrod decide to assist the Rangers in killing the Phantom Beasts. Once the battle is over, Jarrod watches sadly as Casey becomes a Master. He takes Camille by the hand, saying that they've done enough. He takes her to the Forbidden Room, where she tries to encourage him to fight with the Rangers because he is a good person. Jarrod is too despondent by his actions. Finally, Camille decides to help the Rangers alone. Jarrod comes to his senses and joins the fight, weakening Dai Shi. Camille is frightened for his safety; she runs to him and asks if he's okay. He smiles and says that he's good. Camille smiles back and lovingly strokes his cheek. They decide to begin a new life together as Pai Zhua students.
